vivo X300 Ultra's 200MP "Thanos" Periscope Telephoto Camera Officially Detailed: 3-Degree OIS and 60fps Tracking

vivo product manager Han Boxiao revealed on Weibo that the X300 Ultra's fifth-generation ZEISS periscope telephoto camera uses a customized Samsung ISOCELL HP0 sensor at 200MP — making the X300 Ultra the world's first smartphone with dual 200MP cameras.

The Sensor: Custom Samsung ISOCELL HP0

The ISOCELL HP0 is a refined version of Samsung's ISOCELL HPB, built exclusively for vivo under a deepened partnership between the two companies, with a 1/1.4-inch sensor size.

vivo has branded this camera the "Thanos" periscope — a name that signals the ambition behind the system.

The Headline Upgrade: CIPA 7.0-Level Stabilization

The telephoto camera delivers up to 3-degree OIS — a massive leap over the 1.2-degree stabilization on the X200 Ultra — achieving CIPA 7.0-level stabilization.

For context, conventional telephoto OIS reaches only 0.7 to 1 degree, while the X200 Ultra was already industry-leading at 1.2 degrees. The X300 Ultra is nearly three times better than competitors and twice the improvement over its own predecessor.

This enhanced stabilization also applies at longer focal lengths including the 200mm and 400mm teleconverter add-on accessory that vivo confirmed will launch alongside the phone.

BlueImage Processing and Motion Tracking

vivo's BlueImage technology powers improvements to color accuracy, autofocus performance, power efficiency, and HDR capabilities in the telephoto unit.

A new focus tracking system supports 60fps motion capture, enabling sharper tracking of fast-moving subjects across sports, wildlife, and dynamic scenes.

The Complete Camera Array

The full rear camera system comprises a 200MP Sony LYTIA-901 primary sensor (world's first), a 200MP Samsung HP0 periscope telephoto, a 50MP Sony LYT-828 ultrawide, and a 5MP multispectral sensor for color accuracy.

At MWC 2026, vivo also unveiled professional accessories including a SmallRig video cage and a 400mm Zeiss telephoto extender lens.

General Specs and Launch

The X300 Ultra is expected to feature a 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED 2K display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a 7,000mAh battery with 120W wired and 50W wireless charging, and IP68/IP69 ratings.

China launch is expected later this month, with a global release — including likely Europe and India — to follow.
